Bible Allows Man To 'Marry' 10-Year-Old

Minnesota: A 58-year-old man accused of sexually abusing a female relative for nearly a decade after she was placed in his care believes the Bible gave him the right to make the girl his "wife" when she was 10 years old, police said Monday.

Dallas County Jail Guard Fired For Being A Dick

Texas: A veteran Dallas County jail guard has been fired for making offensive comments about his religious beliefs to co-workers.  Stephen Johnson, 59, had been disciplined for making offensive comments in the past, records show. He was fired Jan. 20 for conduct unbecoming an officer and for lying to internal affairs during the investigation.

Johnson reportedly told co-workers that "all gays should be annihilated", "whites were the superior race" and that "dinosaurs were destroyed because man had sex with them", sheriff's reports show.

Johnson could not be reached for comment but, if he could have been, he probably would have said...

"I believe that all dinosaurs were born of Satanic angel who has sex with woman and the animal kingdom that created ungodly reptilian creatures none of these were on the Ark".

Johnson said the Bible supported his opinions, which is actually true:

"And if a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them."

"Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ."

Utah House Majority Leader Resigns

Utah: House Majority Leader, and Mormon, Kevin Garn announced Saturday he was resigning from the Utah Legislature, two days after revelations of a nude hot-tubbing incident with a minor 25 years ago and a payment to keep it quiet.

The incident came to light in the last days of the 2010 legislative session in which he acknowledged inappropriate behavior with Maher, who was 15 at the time and worked for Garn, who was 30. Garn arranged to pay her $150,000, provided she sign an agreement not to go public with the incident. She signed a nondisclosure agreement and Garn paid her the money in 2003.  Read More: Kevin Garn

Garn admitted the two had sat nude in a Salt Lake City hot tub. He insisted there was no sexual contact, but admitted that it was wrong. The Thriving Cult of Greed and Power

TIME exposes Scientology in 11 page article:

By all appearances, Noah Lottick of Kingston, Pa., had been a normal, happy 24-year-old who was looking for his place in the world. On the day last June when his parents drove to New York City to claim his body, they were nearly catatonic with grief. The young Russian-studies scholar had jumped from a 10th-floor window of the Milford Plaza Hotel and bounced off the hood of a stretch limousine. When the police arrived, his fingers were still clutching $171 in cash, virtually the only money he hadn't yet turned over to the Church of Scientology, the self-help "philosophy" group he had discovered just seven months earlier.

Church Facilitates The Spread of HIV

Philippines: On Valentine's Day, Philippine government health workers hit the streets of Manila to hand out roses and condoms to passers-by. The message was clear in a country with a relatively small but rapidly growing HIV-positive population: Avoid unprotected sex.

It didn't get far. Within days, leaders of the powerful Roman Catholic Church began urging the faithful to reject condoms. Bishops issued angry statements slamming the Valentine's Day distribution as immoral and called for the resignation of Health Secretary Esperanza Cabral, who ordered the campaign. One archbishop said that Cabral already "has one foot in hell."

The number of diagnosed HIV/AIDS cases rose to four a day in November and December, up from one or two during the first 10 months of 2009, according to the Health Department. In January, 143 new cases were diagnosed, the largest number recorded in a month.

Without intervention, the nearly 4,600 cases recorded in the Philippines as of January could soar to 30,000 in three years, Cabral said. The figures may be the tip of the iceberg. Cabral said health officials estimate that for every new case recorded, 10 are missed.
