Pastor Uses Hearse For Molestation

Florida: A funeral home employee and pastor in Deland has been arrested after police said he used the company’s hearse to take an underage teen girl to a hotel where he sexually molested her.

Michael Campbell, 46, who lists his occupation as pastor, picked the then 15 year old girl up from her home after telling her father he needed some help at the funeral home. After picking up the girl in the hearse he took her with him while he dropped a body off at the airport.

He then told the girl that she could make money as a model and help out her disabled mother. After leaving the airport he pulled the hearse to the side of the road and had the girl partially disrobe. He then took her to a motel to perform ‘skits’.

After the first incident, Campbell again staged another in 2007 involving the same teen. In that incident he told the girl that the ‘skits’ where how Britney Spears and Beyonce had got their start.

After leaving the Caribbean island, Marshall was placed at the Saint Luke Institute in Silver Springs, Md., which offers a treatment program for clerics with psychological or spiritual problems

“Wanted” Posters For Abortion Providers

Posters created to describe the late doctors David Gunn, George Patterson and John Britton are terrifyingly specific, offering information such as physical appearance, addresses, license plate numbers and even children’s names and ages. All three doctors were murdered in the months after the posters were distributed. A similar “wanted” poster was created for Dr. George Tiller, who was gunned down by an anti-abortion extremist in 2009.

Now, new posters are being distributed for three abortion providers in the Charlotte, North Carolina, region, effectively putting a bounty on those doctors’ heads.

Aiona has starred in Transformation Hawai'i ads and infommercials, attended (and led) multiple Transformation Hawai'i events, contributed a chapter to a book detailing Transformation Hawaii's efforts, accepted cash gifts of over $7,000 to finance a junket to an Argentina conference of Transformation Hawaii's parent ministry, and publicly dedicated Hawaii to Jesus in the name of Transformation Hawai'i.

Where In The Constitution Is The Separation Of Church And State?

Republican Senate Candidate Christine O'Donnell today challenged her Democratic opponent Chris Coons on his statement that the Constitution disallowed the integration of religion into the federal government.

"Where in the Constitution is the separation of church and state?" O'Donnell asked, a statement that drew laughter from the audience. When Coons returned to the topic a few minutes later, he said her comment "reveals her fundamental misunderstanding of what our Constitution is."

"The First Amendment establishes the separation, the fact that the federal government shall not establish religion," Coons said.

"The First Amendment does?" O'Donnell interrupted. "You're telling me that the separation of church and state is found in the First Amendment?"

Also during the debate, O'Donnell stumbled when asked whether or not she would repeal the 14th, 16th, or 17th Amendments if elected. "The 17th Amendment I would not repeal," she said, before asking the questioner to define the 14th and 16th amendments, adding: "I'm sorry, I didn't bring my Constitution with me."

Rival Churches Claim Credit For Chilean "Miracle"

It is the race within the race: while rescuers inch towards the trapped miners rival churches tussle over the miracle in the making. Evangelical, Adventist and Catholic clerics are vying to stamp their own particular faith on a surge in religious fervour as the drama nears a climax in Chile's Atacama desert.

The three Christian denominations have each claimed credit for what they say is divine intervention in the survival – and expected imminent rescue – of the 33 men who have spent 67 days beneath the earth.

"God has spoken to me clearly and guided my hand each step of the rescue," said Carlos Parra Diaz, a Seventh-day Adventist pastor at the San Jose mine. "He wanted the miners to be rescued and I am His instrument."

Yards from where he spoke Caspar Quintana, the Catholic bishop of Copiapo, prepared an altar to celebrate an outdoor mass for a small congregation of miners' relatives and phalanx of TV cameras. "God has heard our prayers," said the bishop. "I have received comments of encouragement from all over the world. Let us give thanks."

97 Chicago Priests Accused of Abuse

A coalition of victims advocate groups has completed a study that contends more than half of Chicago's Roman Catholic parishes have been served by a priest accused at one time or another of sexually abusing children.

The study looked at assignments made between 1917 and 2009 of priests accused of abuse.

To compile the study, researchers with the advocacy groups used the Official Catholic Directory, a phone book of sorts for priests and other church officials, and a database created by Boston-based bishopaccountability.org that lists 97 Chicago priests accused, admitted or convicted of sexual abuse.

The Chicago Archdiocese has substantiated 65 cases of abuse since 1950. The additional 32 cases were gleaned from media reports and lawsuits, according to bishopaccountability.org.

Background Checks Reveal Felony Offenses

During the past two years, about 900 churches and organizations conducted background checks using the discounted service offered through Lifeway, which is the publishing and research arm of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Those background checks turned up "more than 600" felony offenses. This data was reported by the Associated Press yesterday.

There is a $10 basic-level background check option that includes a national criminal and sex offender search, said Jennie Taylor, a marketing coordinator at Lifeway. With nearly 16.2 million members, the Nashville-based SBC is the largest Protestant denomination in the U.S.

Read More: Background Checks

More than 900 different churches or organizations have conducted 11,277 background checks through Lifeway with backgroundchecks.com since 2008, according to Lifeway. Of those, 40 percent returned a hit — which is any kind of incident, ranging from minor traffic violations to felony convictions.

About 21 percent — or 2,320 searches — returned records with misdemeanor or felony results. More than 600 of those 2,320 returned felony offenses, Lifeway reports. Background information is then reported to Lifeway customers.

Southern Baptist Leader: Yoga Isn't Christian

Kentucky: Southern Baptist Seminary President Albert Mohler says the stretching and meditative discipline derived from Eastern religions is not a Christian pathway to God.

Mohler said he objects to "the idea that the body is a vehicle for reaching consciousness with the divine. That's just not Christianity," Mohler told The Associated Press.

Mohler argued in his online essay last month that Christians who practice yoga "must either deny the reality of what yoga represents or fail to see the contradictions between their Christian commitments and their embrace of yoga."

Read More: Albert Mohler

Other Christian leaders have said practicing yoga is incompatible with the teachings of Jesus. Pat Robertson has called the chanting and other spiritual components that go along with yoga "really spooky." California megachurch pastor John MacArthur called yoga a "false religion." Muslim clerics have banned Muslims from practicing yoga in Egypt, Malaysia and Indonesia, citing similar concerns.

The rapture: When all the believers in Jesus Christ, who have been born again, are taken up to heaven.

After the rapture, there will be a lot of speculation as to why millions of people have just disappeared. Unfortunately, after the rapture, only non believers will be left to come up with answers. You probably have family and friends that you have witnessed to and they just won't listen. After the rapture they probably will, but who will tell them?

We have written a computer program to do just that. It will send an Electronic Message (e-mail) to whomever you want after the rapture has taken place, and you and I have been taken to heaven.

Gerard Vincent Byrnes Gets 10 Years

Australia: A former Toowoomba Catholic school teacher and child protection officer has been jailed for 10 years for raping and sexual assaulting girls.

Gerard Vincent Byrnes, 61, was sentenced yesterday on 44 child-sex offences but, he will spend less than half the time behind bars sought by prosecutors. Byrnes must serve eight years before he is eligible for parole. He has already served nearly two years in pre-sentence custody, so the former teacher could be freed in 2016.

Byrnes had worked in Catholic schools in NSW and Queensland since 1970 as both teacher and principal. Many of the offences occurred after a complaint was made to the school, but not acted on because his denial was believed.

Pedophile Priest Treatment Center

Our friends at City of Angels have a copy of a brochure telling U.S. Catholic bishops about a treatment center in Jemez Springs, NM.

Priests with "psycho-sexual problems," which often meant pedophilia and pederasty, went for decades to the Servants of the Paraclete treatment center in New Mexico.

Other documents show that from 1949 to the mid-1980s "guest" priests, after completing therapy at Via Coeli, often remained as "members" of the religious order. Their sexual problems "cured," as the Servants came to believe was possible.
