Pastor Jose Rama Campoverde Sentenced

California: A pastor of an Anaheim church was sentenced Thursday to six years in state prison for sexually assaulting four underage girls who were his parishioners.

Jose Rama Campoverde, 46, who lives in Anaheim, pleaded guilty to one felony count of lewd acts on a child under 14, five felony counts of lewd acts on a child, two misdemeanor counts of child annoyance and a sentencing enhancement allegation for lewd acts on multiple children.

Campoverde was charged with molesting the girls, who ranged from 13 to 17 years old, on various occasions between July 2004 and September 2009.

Carlton F. Hammonds Found Guilty

California: It took a Glenn County jury about five hours Wednesday to find a former Willows minister guilty on three felony counts of performing lewd acts on teenage girls who attended his church school.

Carlton F. Hammonds, 56, was also found guilty of annoying or molesting a girl under 18 years old.

The ex-pastor at Willows Baptist Church will be sentenced in Orland Nov. 3, he could face up to 10 years in prison.

Fugitive Pastor Arrested

Uganda: A Pentecostal pastor facing charges of genocide and crimes against humanity in connection with Rwanda's 100-day slaughter has been arrested 16 years after the bloodshed.

Ugandan authorities handed Jean-Bosco Uwinkindi to Interpol, and he has been taken to the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Tanzania where he will face trial.

Uwinkindi is accused of inciting and directing dozens of attackers to kill Tutsis during the genocide that began in April 1994. At least 500,000 members of the Tutsi ethnic minority and moderates from the Hutu majority were slaughtered.

Survivors of the attacks were also brought to Uwinkindi's church to be killed, the indictment alleges. About 2,000 bodies were found near the church when Uwinkindi fled Rwanda in July 1994.

Pastor Daniel Monk Admits To Sex With Minor

Ohio: An Ohio pastor is in trouble with the law, facing allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a teenager in his congregation; a child he was supposed to be counseling.

Daniel Monk, 47, was arrested Saturday on a charge of felony Sexual Battery. This, after allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old girl who attended his church.

According to records, late last month the girl's mother called Hebron Police over concerns of an inappropriate relationship between her daughter and Monk. Records state when police interviewed Monk roughly a week later, the married man admitted to being the girl's boyfriend and that they had kissed and had sex on at least two separate occasions.
