Vatican Confirms: They're Raping Everybody Out There

The Catholic Church in Rome made the extraordinary admission yesterday that it is aware priests from at least 23 countries have been sexually abusing nuns.

Most of the abuse has occurred in Africa, where priests vowed to celibacy, who previously sought out prostitutes, have preyed on nuns to avoid contracting the Aids virus.

Confidential Vatican reports obtained by the National Catholic Reporter, a weekly magazine in the US, have revealed that members of the Catholic clergy have been exploiting their financial and spiritual authority to gain sexual favours from nuns, particularly those from the Third World who are more likely to be culturally conditioned to be subservient to men.

The reports, some of which are recent and some of which have been in circulation for at least seven years, said that such priests had demanded sex in exchange for favours, such as certification to work in a given diocese.
In extreme instances, the priests had made nuns pregnant and then encouraged them to have abortions.

Philadelphia Cardinal Orders Investigation Of 37 Priests

Pennsylvania: The Catholic Church in Philadelphia will investigate as many as 37 priests identified in a grand jury report as remaining in "active ministry with credible allegations of child sexual abuse," Cardinal Justin Rigali, archbishop of Philadelphia, said Wednesday.

"Sexual abuse of children is a crime. It is always wrong and gravely evil," Rigali said in a news release. "The grand jury report makes clear that for as much as the archdiocese has done to address child sexual abuse, there is still much to do."

He also announced that three priests were placed on administrative leave pending a review.

Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams on Wednesday lauded the church announcement.
"I commend Cardinal Rigali and the archdiocese for this latest action," Williams said. "The cardinal's strong words and recent efforts are the correct steps at this time."

South Dakota Targets Abortion Providers

A law under consideration in South Dakota would expand the definition of "justifiable homicide" to include killings that are intended to prevent harm to a fetus—a move that could make it legal to kill doctors who perform abortions. The Republican-backed legislation, House Bill 1171, has passed out of committee on a nine-to-three party-line vote, and is expected to face a floor vote in the state's GOP-dominated House of Representatives soon.

The bill, sponsored by state Rep. Phil Jensen, a committed foe of abortion rights, alters the state's legal definition of justifiable homicide by adding language stating that a homicide is permissible if committed by a person "while resisting an attempt to harm" that person's unborn child or the unborn child of that person's spouse, partner, parent, or child. If the bill passes, it could in theory allow a woman's father, mother, son, daughter, or husband to kill anyone who tried to provide that woman an abortion—even if she wanted one.

This comes after South Dakota’s two failed abortion ban attempts, and previous decisions to enact what are quite arguably the strictest abortion restrictions in all of the United States.

Protesters At Planned Parenthood

A number of pro-life groups will hold prayer vigils at noon outside of Planned Parenthood clinics across the country. The event is called "Expose Planned Parenthood" and is a result of a number of undercover videos released over the past several weeks that show alleged abuses.

Planned Parenthood had already alerted federal authorities to a potential multistate sex trafficking ring. Over a five day period, visitors to Planned Parenthood health centers in six states said they were seeking information about health services for underage girls who were part of a sex trafficking ring. Planned Parenthood learned the identify of one of those involved and believes these visits are likely a hoax by opponents of legal abortion seeking to discredit Planned Parenthood.

Priest Found Guilty Of Rape

Massachusetts: A Berkshire County jury returns four guilty verdicts against a former priest accused of taking altar boys across state lines and sexually abusing them.

It took less than three hours for the jury in the Gary Mercure trial to hand up its decision after a four day trial that included graphic and disturbing testimony from several men who say Mercure abused them when they were young.

Mercure will be sentenced next Wednesday. Each of the four counts carries the potential of life in prison.

Pastor Ordered To Stand Trial

California: A hush fell over the courtroom Thursday as a Baptist pastor from Citrus Heights was ordered to stand trial on charges that he had molested girls as young as 5 in his home.

Tommy Gene Daniels, 48, was returned to jail on $6 million bail after Superior Court Judge Lloyd G. Connelly found there was probable cause to try him on six felony counts of child molestation involving five alleged victims.
Before Daniels' arrest Dec. 9, the five-bedroom home he shared with his wife of 25 years had been on the radar of law enforcement and child welfare agencies.

Brenda Daniels lost her day care and foster care licenses in 2003 due to substandard care, violations of state regulations, lying to state and county workers and misappropriating public funds – as well as her husband's threat to a social worker about having a gun, according to records from the California Department of Social Services.

Bobby Franklin Compares Homosexuals To Drug Dealers

Georgia: Bobby Franklin, a Republican state representative from Georgia, said this week that letting gays serve openly in the military was the "same thing" as allowing "unrepentant drug dealers" into its ranks.

"The Bible says it's a capital offense," Franklin said during a discussion about homosexuality and the December repeal of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. "You want someone with unrepentant criminal behavior? And it's not just that, neither should adulterers, neither should thieves, neither should a lot of things. The church is full of sinners, but we're told in 1st Corinthians it rattled off the homosexual, the adulterer, the thief, the liar, and such were some of you, but you've been washed, you've been justified and so forth. It's not what you were. You're not punishing a thought. But do you want an unrepentant drug dealer in the military? Same thing."

Franklin regularly introduces legislation that seeks to define abortion as murder and has sought to replace the term "victim" with "accuser" when dealing with cases of rape, stalking and domestic violence. Franklin earned a degree in Biblical Studies and Business Administration from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain

Priest Admits To Sexual Indiscretion During Exorcism

Father Thomas Euteneuer made the confession after a wave of online debate about his sudden departure from his post of president of an anti-abortion group.

He abruptly departed the Human Life International in August of last year, and had maintained a silence over his reasons for stepping down ever since.

The mystery provoked a wave of speculation on the internet about why the priest, described by some as a 'rock star' of the pro-life movement, might have stepped down. The speculation finally forced the priest to break his five months of silence over his resignation from HLI. He admitted to a sexual indiscretion while performing an exorcism.

He then admitted that 'one particularly complex situation clouded my judgment and led me to imprudent decisions with harmful consequences, the worst of which was violating the boundaries of chastity with an adult female who was under my spiritual care.'

Pastor Arrested For Molestation

Texas: Larry Gene Martin, 68, of Palestine was arrested without incident around 1:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 14 at his residence in the 800 block of CR 367 by sheriff's deputy Ted Linam, according to Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor.

Authorities say Martin, who has told authorities he began preaching at age 16, sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl on multiple occasions between July 2009 and December 2009.

Pastor Michael Clare Indicted On Rape Charges

New York: A Bronx minister has been charged with having a yearslong sexual relationship with a young girl who attended his storefront church.

Prosecutors say the Rev. Michael Clare has been indicted on first-degree rape and other charges. The pastor at Harvest Worship Center is being held on $50,000 bail. Clare was arrested in June after the girl told her family about the relationship. He was originally charged with second-degree rape, but a grand jury increased the charges Friday.

Prosecutors say the sexual relationship began in 2006 when the girl was 12 and ended when the girl was 16. They say she became pregnant at 15 and DNA evidence linked the baby to Clare.

Clare faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

Founder And Director Of 'Christian Voice' Is A Wife Beater

Britain: Stephen Green wrote a list of his wife’s failings then described the weapon he would make to beat her with.

‘He told me he’d make a piece of wood into a sort of witch’s broom and hit me with it, which he did,’ she recalls, her voice tentative and quiet. ‘He hit me until I bled. I was terrified. I can still remember the pain.

Stephen Green’s monstrous and autocratic behaviour would, in any circumstance, be shocking. But the charge of arrant hypocrisy must be added — for while terrorising his wife and their four children, he was also revelling in his self-appointed public role as guardian of the nation’s morality.

Green, 60, is founder and director of Christian Voice, a fundamentalist group he set up in 1994, whose website thunders against the vices — family breakdown, crime, immorality and drink among them — that are ruining the lives of ‘real people’. Green’s pronouncements are often outrageous. For example, after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans in 2005 and killed more than 1,600 people, he claimed it was a result of God’s wrath and had purified the city.

He routinely inveighs against the abolition of the death penalty, no-fault divorce, Islam, abortion and, his particular bĂȘte noir, homosexuality. Violent crime and rape, he laments on his website, have risen dramatically in the past 50 years, while he points out that ‘virtue is derided’.

Priest Arrested At Adult Video Store

Texas: A Houston area priest has taken a leave of absence from his parish after being arrested at an adult video store a few miles from his church.

The Houston Police Department Vice Squad had undercover officers inside two adult video stores along the Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston when they said they encountered Father Alberto A. Maullon, 52, of Southeast Harris County.

Vice officers involved in the sting told KPRC Local 2 Maullon was the only person in a private viewing booth area of the Big City Adult Book Store at 10105 Gulf Freeway Wednesday night.

An undercover officer approached and exchanged a nod with him, followed by the locked door being opened for the undercover officer. One officer involved in the sting said at that point "he whipped his junk out" and started masturbating for the undercover officer.

Oklahoma Lawmakers File Bills Encouraging Creationism

Oklahoma: Sen. Josh Brecheen, R-Coalgate, and Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, have filed legislation designed to undermine the teaching of a fundamental of modern science, the theory of evolution

Kern's House Bill 1551, called the Scientific Education and Academic Freedom Act, says students cannot be penalized for subscribing "to a particular position on scientific theories."

Brecheen's Senate Bill 554 actually encourages the teaching of evolution - but in a way his critics say is designed to tear it down rather than reinforce it.

Reaad More: Sorry, Darwin

Brecheen does not really dispute that his bill is an attack on evolution. He promised such a measure after his election in November and said evolution is "a religion," not science.
