Pastor Santos Rosado Faces Multiple Charges

Pennsylvania: A former Bethlehem pastor charged earlier this month with raping one girl now faces charges of sexually assaulting another.

Police said Santos Rosado, 44, met the latest victim at Bethlehem Community Fellowship, where he was a pastor, when she was 14.

They said the sexual assaults lasted for two years. The victim told police she and Rosado had sex at numerous locations in Bethlehem.

Earlier this month, Rosado was charged with raping and sexually assaulting another girl. The sexual assaults in that case started in 1993 when the victim was 12, police said. The assaults continued until she was 18.

Pastor Charged With Child Molestation

Missouri: Rev. Terry McDowell describes his congregation at Gateway Southern Baptist Church on Tholozan Street in south St. Louis as a "church of second chances." Let's hope so, for his sake.

Yesterday the St. Louis County police department announced it arrested McDowell last week on suspicion of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of four. On Friday the county prosecutor's office charged the 48-year-old preacher with child molestation in the first degree.

According to authorities, their investigation began on back in May when St. Louis County detectives received a hotline referral from the Missouri Department of Social Services concerning the alleged victim.

Father Bob Poandl Cleared

Update

West Virginia: All sexual abuse and assault charges against a priest from Cincinnati who was expected to go on trial Monday have been dropped.

Reverend Robert Poandl was indicted on the charges in February.

According to Roane County Prosecutor Josh Downey, the judge dismissed the case late Friday afternoon. The judge ruled there were discovery issues that related to the medical records of the victim. The charges cannot be refiled in Roane County, according to the judge's ruling. The state now has 90 days to decide whether it wants to take the case to the West Virginia Supreme Court

Polish Pop Star Faces Blasphemy Charges

Poland: One of Poland's leading pop stars faces trial for suggesting that the Bible was written by people "who liked herbal cigarettes and were drunks".

Dorota Rabczewska, aka Doda, could face two years in jail over her remarks.
 
A Warsaw court has cleared the way for criminal proceedings after it rejected an appeal by Doda against attempts to prosecute her for insulting religious feeling.  The singer faces two years in jail, if convicted.

Pastor Charged With Sexual Abuse Has HIV

Kentucky: More information about the arrest of a Shelbyville pastor charged with sexual abuse has become public.

James Howard Bell, 47, is in custody in Shelby County, facing charges of sexual abuse, sodomy and wanton endangerment. According to an arrest citation Bell went to police and confessed to several sexual encounters with a 15-year-old.

Besides sexual abuse and sodomy, Bell is also facing a wanton endangerment charge. Police would not release the details of the case, but according to court documents, Bell confessed that he "knowingly withheld the fact that he is HIV positive from the juvenile and did not use protection during these encounters."

Pastor Arrested Again For Protesting Mascot

Georgia: Pastor Donald Crosby isn’t giving up. He was arrested for the second time this week while picketing outside Warner Robins High School because he objects to the school's mascot – the Demons.

Crosby, pastor of God’s Kingdom Builders Church of Jesus Christ in Macon, was arrested Thursday on the misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct for “excessive noise.” Though he had a permit to picket this time, Crosby violated the city noise ordinance by using a bullhorn to shout across the street to the principal and about 50 students standing outside the school.

Pastor Charged With Sexual Assault

Michigan: A pastor was arraigned today in 36th District Court on multiple charges for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenaged member of his church. Timothy Jackson, 46, faces six counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for his alleged activities with a 13-year-old girl.

The alleged incidents occurred between 2009 and 2010 at Abundant Life Church in Detroit.

Jackson was pastor of the church at the time of the alleged assaults. There was a fire at the church Aug. 6 that is believed to be suspicious and possibly linked to the case.

GOP House Candidate Says AIDS Is Punishment

When the Bible says homosexuals should be “put to death; their blood shall be upon them,” the blood is really AIDS. Or so says Jeremy Walters, Republican legislative hopeful, in a series of posts on his Facebook.

Waters is running in House District 67 against state Rep. Kevin McCarthy, D-Des Moines, the second highest ranking Democrat in the Iowa House.

Parents Need Cash, Sacrifice Daughter

India: Lust for wealth drove a poverty- stricken couple to sacrifice their own four-year-old daughter at a village in Uttar Pradesh’s backward Sitapur district.

The couple, identified as Srikrishna and Ramdevi, were told by a “tantrik” (exorcist) that they would become rich if they sacrificed their daughter, according to police sources here. Acting on the advice of a tantrik, a “havana kund”(a pit in which the fire is lit and yajna is performed), was prepared in the courtyard of the couple.

The parents then put their daughter Kanni into the pit amid chanting of “mantra” and lit the fire. The girl, who was also mercillessely beaten, was half buried in the pit.

The parents had stuffed a piece of cloth in the mouth of the little girl so that her cries could not be heard by any one in the village, sources said.

‘Holy Ghost' Charged With Raping His Own Daughter

Utah: The leader of the Church of the Firstborn of the General Assembly of Heaven has been charged with raping his own daughter in Magna when she was 15. The second-in-command of that group was also charged with raping the same girl.

37-year-old Geody Harman was arrested in Montana on Wednesday on a first degree rape warrant. An arrest warrant also has been issued for Terrill Dalton, the church's president, who claims to be The Holy Ghost and the father of Jesus, on two felony counts of first degree rape.

Cynthia Dalton, who is now 20, wants her father prosecuted. She claims he insisted she have sex with Harman when she was 15 years old. "My dad comes up to me and goes, 'You've got to do this, this is what the Lord wants. You do this, you sleep with Geody, you'll get great blessings bestowed upon you,'" she said. Cynthia Dalton says she resisted and then gave in to Harman. A few days later, her father followed suit. "And he's like, 'The Lord says me and you need to have sex. We need to have sex three times and after the third time you'll have great blessings bestowed upon your head,'" she said.

Pastor James Blaine Pleads Guilty To Embezzlement Charges

Ohio: Former Greenfield pastor James Blaine may face up to 6 years in prison and $250,000 in restitution payments after he pleaded guilty to embezzling thousands from his church.

Blaine, 61, was indicted on 17 counts related to allegations that he stole more than $100,000 from the Good Shepherd Church near Greenfield. He pleaded guilty on two charges Wednesday in Highland County Common Pleas Court.

The maximum sentence for the first count is 12 months and the maximum sentence for the second count is 5 years. The state dropped the remaining 15 counts and recommended a prison sentence of three years and eight months.

Father William Casey Pleads Guilty To Child Molestation

North Carolina: A former Catholic priest from East Tennessee pleaded guilty to charges today of sexual abuse of a child. This morning, William Casey admitted in McDowell County, NC that he was guilty of crimes against nature.

A man who's now forty four claimed Casey took him from Kingsport to McDowell County and abused him when he was a little boy. Casey was a priest in Kingsport, Rogersville, and in Greeneville where he now lives, but he's since been removed from the priesthood.

Despite the guilty plea It appears Casey will serve no jail time. The sentence - three years behind bars. But, the judge suspended the sentence and put Casey on supervised probation for 24 months. He was forced to pay a $500 fine and restitution to the victim for counseling.

Catholic School Principal Faces Molestation Charges

Ontario: Allegations of sexual abuse are piling up against a former Windsor high school principal. Rev. William Hodgson "Hod" Marshall was charged in May with indecent assault for incidents that occurred between 1981 and 1985.

Late last month, Marshall, 88, was charged with three more counts of abuse by three additional victims, including two counts of indecent assault dating back to 1955 and one charge of sexual assault stemming from one or more incidents alleged to have occurred in 1985-86.

Marshall taught at Assumption College Catholic High School in 1955 and at Holy Names high school from 1985-89, where he also served as principal.

Pastor Joshua Wisdom Arrested In Prostitution Sting

Arkansas: Thirty-seven-year-old Joshua Wisdom was arrested by the Bentonville Police Department after officers said he attempted to exchange money for sex during a sting operation at a local hotel.

Wisdom, 37, was the minister of students at the First Baptist Church of Springdale and the Church at Pinnacle Hills in Rogers.

Wisdom submitted his letter of resignation to the church Thursday morning. Church leaders addressed the parents of the children Wisdom worked with, and issued an e-mail statement to the rest of the congregation.

Pastor Arrested For Luring Men Into Sex

Texas: Posing as a young man, 51-year-old Pastor Randy Scott would exchange emails with his victims, then appear at their homes pretending to be the step-father of the person they thought they'd been corresponding with. Scott would then threaten to call the police unless the young men gave him oral sex. At least one of the victims is underage. Scott, who is married with children, has resigned from his church.

Charges Brought Against Father Philip Jacobs

Canada: A Catholic priest formerly of Columbus, OH, who was removed for molesting boys in the early 9os, was arrested in Canada for...wait for it...molesting boys.  Who would have guessed?

Father Phillip Jacobs, 60, is in custody in British Columbia where he was arrested earlier this week while disembarking a flight from California. Jacobs is facing charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and sexual exploitation.

Pastor Charged With Child Rape

Washington: Michael Louis Anthony, 43, is charged with having a sexual relationship with a then 15-year-old girl. Police said the victim told them that she had sex with Anthony at least 200 times.

According to court documents, Anthony eventually “confessed he was in a sexual relationship” with the underage victim and that her “parents were aware of the relationship”.

Anthony is maried and has two children.

Pastor Charged With Sexual Assault Of A Child

Illinois: A well-known Union County pastor has been charged with sexually assaulting a child.

Bill Vandergraph, 72, of rural Alto Pass, is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault of a four year old. Court documents state the crime occurred between January and May 2010.

Vandergraph is the pastor of a church in Alto Pass. He's also the President of the Friends of the Cross, a group raising money to restore Bald Knob Cross. Vandergraph is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Union County court on August 13.

Pastor Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography

Illinois: The U.S. Attorney's Office in Springfield said Howard D. Shockey, 59, is charged with possession of child pornography for an incident on July 7.

He was a pastor of the Church of Brethren Church in Girard, where he served almost seven years, and was chaplain of the Pleasant Hill Nursing Home in Girard. He has been terminated from both positions, officials said Thursday.

The indictment alleges that Shockey was seen viewing child pornography on a computer by a staff member of the nursing home. Images of nude young girls were found under a computer user account titled "Howard S,".  Shockey has admitted viewing child pornography.

Pastor Charged With Cyber Stalking

Louisiana: A local Baptist preacher was arrested Tuesday on three counts of cyber stalking after members of his former congregation accused him of sending threatening e-mails and text messages.

Jim Reynolds, 55, was freed from the DeSoto Detention Center after posting a bond totaling $3,156 through Eagle Bail Bonds.

Reynolds, former pastor of Graceway Baptist Church in the Carmel community, was arrested on warrants that three church members secured through a justice of the peace. They accuse Reynolds of making threats and sending harassing messages primarily through repeated e-mails and text messages.

Pastor Charged With Sexual Abuse

Iowa: The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that a church pastor has been charged with sexual abuse.

Authorities said a weeklong investigation ended with the arrest and charges of crimes against a child being filed against Timothy Parker, 40, who is the pastor at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Westgate.

Parker is charged with two counts of lascivious acts with a minor and one count of third-degree sexual abuse. The charges could result in 30 years in prison if Parker is convicted.

South Carolina: Highway Patrol arrested Jake Young early Saturday morning. He's a pastor at North Anderson Community Church, Presbyterian in Anderson.

Young is charged with driving under the influence and child endangerment. He is out on bond.

Pastor Arrested Picketing High School Mascot

Georgia: A pastor who wants to get rid of the mascot at Warner Robins High School was arrested picketing in front of the school Monday.

Donald Crosby, pastor of Kingdom Builders Church of Christ, was charged with disorderly conduct and picketing without a permit, both misdemeanors, after he refused to comply with officers' requests to leave.

Crosby was among a group of about 30 people picketing the use of "Demons" as the school’s mascot. The mascot was named for the Air Force’s 7th Fighter Squadron when the school opened in 1946, according to school officials. The squadron was nicknamed the Screamin’ Demons.

Afghanistan: The Taliban has executed a pregnant widow accused of adultery in western Afghanistan, provincial and district officials said Monday.

The woman was accused of adultery that left her pregnant. The Taliban shadow district governor, Mullah Abdul Hakim, and his judge ordered the woman to be executed.

Church Plans ‘Burn A Quran’ Day

A controversial Florida church known for publicly condemning what it considers sins plans to burn copies of Islam's holy book on the upcoming ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The non-denominational Dove World Outreach Center, which has in the past joined the extremist Westboro Baptist Church in protesting homosexuality, is organizing the “International Burn A Quran Day” to oppose Islam, which it sees as a “violent and oppressive religion.”

Pastor Charged With Child Abuse

Virginia: Prince William County police have arrested a former youth pastor on charges that he carried on a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl in his church group.

Jason Bolton, 32, of Dumfries, began a close friendship with the girl in September 2007. By early 2010, the relationship had become romantic. Bolton, a married man with two sons and a daughter, began as a youth pastor at Potomac Crest Baptist Church in 2007. He resigned in May after the sexual allegations came to light.

Bolton was being held on a $3,000 secured bond on a charge of sodomy. A court date has not been set, officials said.

Pastors Fail To Report Child Abuse

Arizona: Laura and Daniel McCluskey knew Leobardo Frausto-Jimenez, a member of their congregation, sexually assaulted his daughter, and they did not report it. The pastors were arrested and charged with a felony earlier this week.

Jimenz and his daughter met with the McCluskeys for counseling in 2008. In that meeting, the young woman said her father had been sexually abusing her for years. Police said Jimenz admitted to molesting her but said he was sorry.

The pastors allegedly told the teenage girl to forgive her father. After that meeting, police said Jimenz stopped abusing his oldest daughter and started assaulting his younger daughter. Police said they believe this could have been avoided if the McCluskeys had spoken up.
